No podemos decir que abrimos la noche con el Bay City Killers porque en realidad, llegamos con retraso para el inicio de la velada. Pero sí que los de Mallorca dieran el pistolazo inicial y que, por lo poco que vimos, el quinteto tiene una buena influencia o algo muy proximo del The Gaslight Anthem. Salieron en defender su único disco, The Distance, disponible en el Bandcamp, enlace que usted puede encontrar tanto ahí abajo como en nuestra sección de BANDCAMP de la página. Lamentamos no haber llegado a tiempo, la presentación tenía buena pinta y conseguimos ver un par de canciones, "The Grave" y "Same Old Folks".

En seguida tuvimos los gallegos del True Mountains, muy conocidos por ser una banda de Punk Rock Acústico pero que, para la noche en el estraperlo, estuvo más enchufada que nunca. Las canciones como "Fuck Television" y "Midnight Birds" dieron el tono de la noche y tal vez fue el punto culminante de la misma. Conciertazo!
Está claro que, el Flatliners eran los headliners de la noche y el principal motivo para que un buen numero de asistentes estuvieran en el Estraperlo, un grupo que juega entre el Rock y el Punk Rock como es el caso de Resuscitation of the Year". Sin embargo, con "Birds of England" y "Sew My Mouth Shut" esa huella Rock parece ser la favorita del gran público. Un ejemplo un poco mejor es "Hang My Head", música de trabajo del último disco y responsable de abrir la noche. Otra que también llamó la atención fue "Nicotine Lips", también del disco Inviting Lights. En un general, entre los chicos y chicas vestidos de punk "bonitinhos", el saldo fue positivo. Al final todos salieron de la sala con cara de felices.

We can not say that we opened the night with Bay City Killers because we actually arrived late for the start. So we can only confirm that the night was opened by this band from Mallorca and that the quintet has a good influence and similar sound to The Gaslight Anthem. They stepped onto the stage of Estraperlo defending their only album, The Distance, available on Bandcamp, a link you can find both below and in our BANDCAMP section of the page. We're sorry we did not make it (be there on time), the presentation looked good and we only got a couple of songs, "The Grave" and "Same Old Folks".
Then we had the trio from Galicia called True Mountains, well known for being an Acoustic Punk Rock band but, for this evening at Estraperlo, it was more plugged than ever. Songs like "Fuck Television" and "Midnight Birds" set the tone for the evening and maybe it was the highlight of it.
All right, the Flatliners were the headliners and the reason for a good audience to be in the room, the band is flirting between Punk Rock and Rock although with "Resuscitation of the Year" still worth more punk. But with "Birds of England" and "Sew My Mouth Shut," that Rock footprint seems to be the favorite of the big crowd. A slightly better example is "Hang My Head", a working song from the last album and responsible for opening the night. Another that also gripped our attention was "Nicotine Lips", also from the album Inviting Lights. In general, among the boys and girls dressed in cute punks, the balance was positive. After all, they all left the room looking happy and smiling.

Não podemos dizer que abrimos a noite com o Bay City Killers porque na verdade, chegamos com atraso para o inicio da velada. Então só podemos confirmar que a noite foi aberta por esta banda de Mallorca e que, pelo pouco que vimos, o quinteto tem uma pegada bem parecida ao The Gaslight Anthem. Pisaram no palco do Estraperlo defendendo seu único disco, The Distance, disponivel no Bandcamp, link que você pode encontrar tanto aí embaixo quanto na nossa seção de BANDCAMP da página. Lamentamos não haver chegado à tempo, a apresentação tinha boa pinta e conseguimos conferir um par de canções, "The Grave" e "Same Old Folks".
Em seguida tivemos o trio da Galícia chamado True Mountains, muito conhecido por ser uma banda de Punk Rock Acústico mas que, para a noite no Estraperlo, esteve mais plugada do que nunca. Músicas como "Fuck Television" e "Midnight Birds" deram o tom da noite e talvez tenha sido o ponto alto da mesma.
Tudo bem, os Flatliners eram os headliners e o motivo para que um bom publico estivesse na sala, a banda vai flertando entre o Punk Rock e o Rock ainda que com "Resuscitation of the Year" siga valendo mais o punk. Porém, com "Birds of England" e "Sew My Mouth Shut" aquela pegada Rock parece ser a favorita do grande publico. Um exemplo um pouco melhor é "Hang My Head", música de trabalho do último disco e responsavel por abrir a noite. Outra que também chamou atenção foi "Nicotine Lips", também do disco Inviting Lights. Num geral, entre os rapazes e moças vestidos de punks bonitinhos, o saldo foi positivo. Afinal todos sairam da sala com cara de felizes.
